Miles announced it on a blog post on the ning site, but many of you may not have seen it. Anyway, it is a work in progress, so if anyone wants to contribute any other Q&A's, or wants to correct anything already in the current FAQ, please email me ciseg8r@hotmail.com whatcha got & we'll put it in.

Also, any questions you remember as having come up often about gear (cases, amps, pedals, microphones, etc.), please chime in. Thanks.

I probably saw the FAQ when I first joined, but had completely forgotten about it until a few days ago. The link to it needs to be HIGHLY visible from anywhere on the OFC. On the ning page, Miles already put it up as one of the permanent links on the menu ribbon at the top.

Joined: December 2008 Posts: 1453 Location: Texas | If it will ultimately be a long list like the old FAQ, it might be nice to break it down into sub- categories like (just off the top of my head): OFC membership FAQ Board rules, navigation and etiquette FAQ Guitar Models, features and info FAQ Amps and equipment FAQ Repairs FAQ General FAQ Other FAQ Misc FAQ Drummers and Bass Players FAQ Taylor FAQ ;) etc. Does that make any sense?

CTRL-F gets you to the info you need the quickest, but pretty counts too, so we'll look into it. Maybe after it's stable, not a lot being added, we'll reformat it. Thanks

Joined: December 2008 Posts: 1453 Location: Texas | t'was just a thought… I suppose if the FAQ gets too elaborate and/or complete it would eliminate the opportunity to enjoy all the snappy banter that occurs when us newbies ask questions like "I inherited my Uncle's Ovation guitar and it only has 5 strings, where can I get it repaired?" (or "why is there a larger space between those two strings than the other three?") ;) If I think of anything actually constructive, I will send it on, thanks for (re)compiling the FAQ, it is a worthwhile project…

On the other hand, perhaps it is kind of a newbie koan - and when I solve it I will be one step closer to Ovation enlightenment

I'll put in the FAQ, but FYI - if you don't see a series of buttons underneath the text field where you type your post, then press the "Full Reply Form" button and let the page re-load. First, open the site you want to link to in another browser window/tab and copy the URL of that site to your clipboard. Then come back here and press the "URL" button below the text field. A window will pop up where you can paste the URL you copied earlier. Make sure that if you copied the entire URL, including the http:// part, that you overwrite the http:// that's automatically put in the copy field, otherwise the link won't work. Press OK and another small window will pop up where you can type in your short snappy phrase, press OK, and you're done. Of course you can press the "Preview Post" button to make sure that everything worked.
