I saw Sammy Ash's at the factory this week and it is a very nice guitar. Quiet, subtle but very nice. Now as to Clifford's yawn, I totally agree. The entire concept is long overdue for a multi year vacation. Of course we all know how likely that is of happening.....

The '07 is a totally boring drab piece of work which took about as much imagination and engineering as cutting a fart in a wind storm. But that's all the leash that the boys were given because they are spending all their efforts on engineering some kick-you-in-the-ass new products to be introduced in 2007. The Collector is just a "slap something together 'cuz we have to" but the REAL gems will see the light of day a little while later. Just my guess. Dave

I know the bear claw on the CL30 I am selling is stunning to look at (even with the small crack in the top) but you just can not photograph that wood well. I like this one. My only gripe would be the lack of the eplauets on the bottom as well. Never got used to the single set. I know, I know, I am stuck in the 70's man.. What can I say. Randy

I am with Cliff and Bill on one thing - after the Koa on the 06, this one seems a little boring and not quite on a par. Then again, the sound quality...

I think that they are making some of the best sounding and quality guitars now. This is the time to buy.

Bowl, top, electronics, etc. are existing technology. Onkly thing new is the epaulet wood. Contrast that to what it must have taken for the '97 or '05, for example. I wish I could afford to buy every new thing they make these days. Although I don't see much in the '07C that really calls out to me. I already sacrifice a lot in that area with the fiberglass bowl...and lose a lot of respect from all my stupid wood-guitar so-called friends. I'm glad Ovation does stuff like this. John <>{
