So, the Acoustic Guitar Forum (aka Taylor Guitar Forum) is taking a page out of the OFC book and requesting submissions for a 2009 calendar.

AGF CALENDAR

Good for them. The OFC calendars have been really nice and I'm sure the doily knitters over on the Taylor board will do a fine job of it.

But we would not be doing our jobs if we didn't try to have a little fun with this, right? So, I am calling to arms all OFC members. Let's go register on the AGF and absolutely flood their calendar submissions with photos of our roundback guitars. Let's just see how many of them make it into print. I'm guessing, oh, I dunno, maybe, ... zero?

Onward ...

Who wants to participate in a forum that talks about lawyer bashing and allows lawyers to be members? Seems their thread got hijacked into a discussion about trademark issues.
I doubt my pictures of my guitars in front of the Porsches would qualify as having a "neutral" background.

Yes... do read that whole thread.
Those guys are something else.
I'm glad we're not them.

They are also asking for a TeeShirt design...
We got them covered there to, right??

They can resolve the whole issue by designing and building their own guitars... then make a calendar.

See? Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.

I read the thread. I suspect they'll be fine on the legal front as long as they don't post any pictures of Gibson guitars. ;)

Wow! Interesting read.

As a public service, we could create a second OFC calendar that features non-Ovation guitars owned by OFC members, and offer it for sale there.

I'm sure the guitars would be at least as nice as anything they come up with, except ours would probably be a little lighter on Taylors...

Porsche is real sticky about using their cars in advertising. Maybe I don't want any credit if you use mine, DZ. (Just kidding. I'll deal with them if they give you any flak.)

Actually, they figured it out by page 2 on the original thread. Here

Let's be a little careful with our phrasing and keep it fun for both forums. Good-natured ribbing and some clever give-and-take are one thing, but I don't like provoking people just for the "halibut."

I've added a few of mine to the submission post, though I'd be more pleased to see them on the OFC Calendar. ;)

I didn't register as a member so I couldn't access the photo page, but I did read the string of posts about the calendar project. It seems there are a few folks over there exchanging views with one another about whether or not there may be some legal concerns and consequences if they publish a calendar of multiple brand guitar pictures. I was much more interested in seeing pictures of the guitars.

Ditto, Brad. I just couldn't bring myself to register for another forum in order to look at pictures of guitars. I don't need to get GAS for woodbacks, and if I did, I could start at the Tak forum.
