Next week, I hope to get a chance to preview a new Ovation LX 12-string. I guess this model is made for Guitar Center as it carries this "GC" designation.

I have been looking for an LX 12-string and this is the only model I have found so far.

Any advice from the group on what to look for or if I should be concerned that this is a Guitar Center model. Price quoted, with case is $1199.99.

I have played a couple of them that have pasted through our local GC. Both of them were very nice. Like always, you can spend much more and end up with much less.

Close your eyes when you play the GC LX 12 string. It will feel and sound wonderful. But if you open your eyes and see the butt ugly orange color......

Jim,
If you really like what you hear and how the guitar feels. Why not try to email Al Pepiak at Lost Vintage. Check and see what he can get for you. He might save you some money. Plus you won't have to settle for Orange. Unless you really like that color. It won't be a GC6756LX but he might be able to get you a 6756LX. Just check with him and see.

Folklore owns one of these. Hopefully he can weigh in with his opinion on it.

I've played two at our local GC and both played and sounded wonderful.

Thanks for the replys. I kind of like the look of the orange burst, at least how it looks in the picture. Will see it in the flesh next week....
