Check out this auction on fleBay for a (gasp) Taylor from '31 (allegedly). Not bad looking considering the reported age. But, go to the bottom picture in the left hand column and check out that nut and the corresponding action.

Wow! Those Taylor guys are manly men, eh?

Nah, there's no such thing as too much uke. That's like saying you can own too many Nationals! (see how clever I am...drawing W2 into this mess?!) I sang and played 'Hello My Baby' for Sally tonight. Oddly, I think it made her angry. It's worth the investment already!! :D

Most Martin Koa guitars from the 30's, including this one, were factory set-up for lap-style playing, hence the action. The price he's asking is very reasonable.

I have one of these, also a 31, and I had it converted. It appears to be in a bit better shape than this one but this is nice too. They are sweet guitars, this is the right size for an all koa guitar I think. (a solid opinion from a former jet fuel seller)

Ok, I was kidding about the action, I realized it was Hawiian-style. But, allegedly, I'm not in the market for any stringed instruments. If I were I might be intrigued by this National:

058768 National Tricone tenor sn.173 ca. 1928 all original pear shaped, resonator tenor guitar with 4 string banjo style mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard; Grover tuners; 23 inch scale; some dings and dents but still a rare model; new replacement cones from National Resophonic VG SSC $1850 BUY ME

I mean, 75 years old, three digit serial number and it's pear shaped. HAHA!

It's at Bernunzio up in Rochester. I've never dealt with them, though. And honestly, I'm not in the market for a dobro.

I've bought from him before, they're fine. Too bad there aren't asny pictures of this. I just got a style 2 (roses) plectrum. Not sure I need another one of these.
