Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | My 22 month old son is just beginning to make sounds for a few words: "CE CE" for Sissy; "Me Me" for I want; "Ca" for Car, etc., but no complete words until last night. I was sitting in the living room playing electric guitar: I had the Deacon 12, EJ Strat, and Les Paul out and having a great time using the new Boss RC-20XL through the Fender Deluxe...so nice...
Well, I had just plugged in the Deacon 12 and started playing when he came running in the room saying: "Guitar, Guitar" as clear as a bell and over and over!
Needless to say, I am very proud...That's my boy! :cool: |

| Similar story - yesterday we strapped our 25-month-old in the car & he started saying "leave alone, leave alone" with increasing distress as we failed to understand what he was trying to tell us. I put on one of his favorite songs ('Hey Hey' from EC Unplugged) to try to calm & distract him, but that only made him scream the louder "No! Leave Alone!"
Then it came to me - the first lines from another blues song I've been playing for him lately are "My baby gone and left me, left me all alone...". So I scanned to that song and he claps and says "Yes, Daddy! Leave Alone!" and proceeds to rock out in his car seat.

Location: Rego Park, NY, | Many years ago my nephew was about 14 months old at the time. He only knew one word phrases. I had not seen him for a few months. During a visit I took him and my mom to Toys R' Us. My mom wanted to get him a toy to play with while she was babysitting. After about 5 minutes in the store my mom shows him a toy that he might like.
He took it from my mom and said "Put it in the cart, Pay for it". I'll never forget it. He is graduating from Rutgers this month with a degree in communications. |

Location: Las Vegas, NV | One of my youngest son's (who's now 2 1/2 years old) first words was gee-tar (with the emphasis on tar, not gee like some hillbilly). He likes to go through the gear catalogs and guitar magazines, saying "more gee-tar" at each one he sees. Pretty cute kid if I may say so, myself. He's my picture on the "other" site. |

Following chinese tradition the boy's/groom family is supposed to pay for the wedding because you are talking the girl into your family. I HAVE THREE BOYS!! :eek: :rolleyes: :cool: Another part of that is that the girl is no longer part of her family anymore. I don't follow the tradition to the letter but I have friends that do. |

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | How about "first harmony"? Julie was 7, Johnny was 5, and we started singing "You're a Grand Old Flag" in the car (Their favorite movie then was "Yankee Doodle Dandy.") All of a sudden, my 7-yr-old was singing the obvious harmony, so I began to sing the other harmony, and my 5-yr-old managed to hang onto the melody by himself long enough that we sang all the way to the end in three parts. Two small blond kids in booster seats chirping away, one mommy with a big grin and tears shining in her eyes...
