If you're a lefty player who's waiting for one of these (I'm not; I actually think my 'old' new 1777 sound as good if not better than most of the LX's I've played), the news is not good. John said that there are no plans in the immediate future, and that it will probably be AT LEAST another year before any lefties are made... ...so you other southpaw players will have to be satisfied with the older models for now...mine seems to get the job done - mostly using it on Sunday mornings. I didn't post on John's Worship post, but I did do the survey - I'm another pastor who helps lead worship every Sunday, switching back and forth between electric and acoustic (we have another acoustic player, so I mostly play electric).

Heck, I'm still waiting to see a left handed Viper! Personally, I'm not in the market for any new O's at the moment as my "oldies" serve me extremely well. But still I find this news a bit disheartening simply because it furthers my perception that the lefty market just isn't very important to them. Well, FWIW I'm a guy that's been playing Ovation acoustics and A/Es exclusively for the last 34 years, and all the while with the neck pointing in the opposite direction from everyone elses. Oh, well, it was worth a try...yeah, let's go have lunch, but it will have to be in a place that will serve 'my kind.'

He's right handed and plays lefty, and I'm left handed and play right. Last year he had Ovation build him a left handed Folklore. He wanted the wider neck. He had the neck glossed and upgraded the tuners. It has the tradional inlaid Ovation rosette. It's all he plays now. And the price was very reasonable.

Hoard all the Viper necks you can. Flip the schematic over. Look for figured Koa lumber on Fleabay. What about the #%$*!@ cases? Hm-m-m-m!
