Location: chattanooga tn | it's an applause ae48, going to attempt to install and opl24+, kinda think some routing will need to be done, it has no battery box cut out, but I'm thinking I could probably secure that to the preamp box, I'm thinking a low speed dremel cutting tool to widen the preamp slot, maybe the grinding tool would be safer, any advice would be greatly appreiciated, dont want to screw it up.....I'm more fond of it than I thought I'd be

Location: 6 String Ranch | You'll need a 12 horse Husquavarna chain saw, the one with the small bar and fine tooth chain. Next is a jaws of life tool with the 3" cutter attachment and a 6" disc sander with 14, 60 grit discs. Then a small arc welder rig for securing the attachment ring for the new preamp. Don't forget a roll of masking tape so you won't get any scratches on the rest of the bowl finish.

Location: chattanooga tn | I have acess to all the above aside from the chain saw, though I beileve the dremel will suffice, I suppose what I really need to know is how easy is it to crack the bowl, thats something I dont really wish to learn the hard way, thanks

Talk to Customer service and see what their process is first. They may even have a template or some do's and don'ts to pass on.
Tip: Be nice to your Dental Hygienist and they might slip you a packet of used but sterilized cutting and grinding bits to use with your Dremel!

Location: chattanooga tn | I sent an email to customer service a few days ago about the low e not responding when plugged in,it doesnt even register on an electric tuner, I've yet to get a response, a new pickup is coming with the preamp, so I'm really not worried about it,and as an added surprise, I called musicians friend, where I got it, not expecting anything more than to be told I could send it back, wich was the first thing out of the reps mouth, I told him I wanted to keep it,he gave me a fax number, told me to get an estimate to fix it,and if it was reasonable,they'd foot the bill,reasonable being 30 to 50 bucks,higher than that they would split the cost, quite different than my usual bout with any customer service from a large company, oh yeah, back to the topic, how easy does it crack?....years and years ago a friend of mine had one that had a run in with his ex girlfriends boot,if memory serves correctly,the fragments were extremely brittle, I'm trying to avoid cracks, just need to widen the hole a bit |

Location: Upper Left USA | I worked with a guy that was a Diver in Vietam. He was part of a Team that made the largest munitions explosion ever. They packed their version of C4 into fire hoses and laid it out (stealthily) across the bottom of a key river to ensure sufficient depth for passage.
Something like a 2 mile precision blast.
There's always more than one way to make a hole! |

After the first blast the next few seem a lot more quiet!
Early in my days as a Tank Cleaner I had opted not to put in ear plugs once when wearing an airfed hood (Pre-OSHA Hazmat Clean-up suits). Got home and tried to play my 1112, shocked and dismayed that it sounded really dull!
Since then I have embraced the use of hearing protection vs. Bravado!
Hopefully I'll get to the point where I can wear earplugs on stage! |

Location: NJ | When I was a kid, we used to take M80's and wrap them real tight with about .125" of vinyl electrical tape. It aided in making 'em waterproof and gave them a little more "mass" to they'd sink faster. Lit 'em and through 'em into a nearby river from a high bridge. Looked really cool at night with the underwater "flash". Like mini depth charges . . . |

Location: chattanooga tn | I cut out a file the width of the cavity and used that to lengthen it, now I'm just waiting for my parts to come in, used a friend of mines guitar with the same preamp to make the adjustments, and of all the suggestions I've been given..... I am planning on using duct tape, instead of cutting out a cavity for the battery box, I'm planning on securing it to the preamp box, more than likely with a bit of duct tape |

Location: chattanooga tn | it's pretty good for the money, the elctronics suck, hence the upgrade,low e doesnt get amplified at all, wont even register on an elctric tuner, the tone control is useless, put it past two and its extremely brittle ,fretwork past the tenth fret is awful, but an easy fix, they're just rough other than it I really dig it, it's got a beautifly figured top, plays extremely nice, and has a very nice even unplugged tone, doesnt get boomy, all the notes ring out crystal clear, for the money I think I got a pretty good deal, it was good for what you pay for right out the box, with a little bit of work it's going to be a great little instrument |
