I was reading Guitar World Acoustic and Acoustic Guitar magazines last night. In Guitar World Acoustic, there was a picture of Patrick Simmons of the Doobies playing an Ovation, athough the article was talking about him using "another brand" when he wrote Black Water. Anyone know which Ovation he used?

I don't know which one he used, but I saw the same article and was disappointed to read the text and find out they were taliking about another guitar.

Hizzoner,

I remember a tv apprearance of the Doobies performing Black Water back when the song was first out and I believe he played either a sunburst or black Legend.

Was definately a brown bowl. Not sure it would have been a black Legend. W-2, any ideas?

Simmons played an ovation during "Black Water" on an episode of "Whats Happening?" A black actor who played a character named "Rerun" starred on the program. Patrick can play, no doubt about it!!

The actor's Name that Played Rerun was Fred Berry, He had his name legally changed to Fred Rerun Berry. He passed away last year. Now isn't it scary that I knew that?
