Location: Anchorage, Alaska | Does it seem strange that with Ovation only making 100 of these that they would go to the high volume online stores? I guess it might make sense for them to only ship to a couple places instead of dozens of smaller shops around the country. |

Location: Waurika OK | I think the "usually ships in 3-5 days" is a standard bit of info that automatically appears whenever a product is entered into their database as being for sale. Because their usual practice is to ship anything they have in stock within that time frame. And if you pay, they get to use your money for free for a few weeks. Probably if someone complains they then revise their info. |

Offer a limited 100 guitar run. Ovation tells Al, that he's got "an in" with the factory, so members at OFC order through him, at an insider price, thinking that they are going to get low serial number, while, in fact, It will be a regular production run, numbers based on the pre-orders, then...list the guitar on ebay and online stores as, available now, to those who did not pre-order, making the OFC members, who pre-ordered, nuts.
All the while, Ovation, only ever, planned on getting revenge on the uppity and overly demanding members of aforementioned OFC.
The snag in the plan...Ovation didn't anticipate production delays resulting from the breakdown of talks with North Korea, who, not only, continues nuclear weapon production, but also, shuts down the U681T production line, causing online vendors to change availability dates, unexpectedly, from March 25, to dates four to six weeks out. |

Location: boulder | I wonder if the complete 100 guitars are spoken for already? If they are not all preordered, then online stores would still be able to put in a request for one.
I don't mind waiting for my own financial reasons (credit cards don't get charged until guitar has actually shipped), but it does seem like mothership has her hands full. I received my 2005 collectors in february, my friend is still waiting for his that he ordered through guitar factory online store (w/ credit card-no pay until ship).
What i really hope is that in a rush to pump out all the new guitars, that the quality stays as high as it's always been. if it's worth it, it's worth waiting for....just my opinion at this moment..mike |
