This is a nylon string. And not all slotheads are nylon strings. Look at this

No, I knew that not all slotheads were nylon strings (the one you linked, the FD14, the Adamas 12 fret) but I guess I was under the mistaken assumption that ALL NYLON STRINGS GUITARS were slothead.

The ebay listing is a nylon string with a regular headstock....that is what was surprising to me.

Paul, I guess my vision is bad. the full length photo looks to me like it is a regular headstock. That's why I was asking the questions.

Guess I could try to save it and then enlarge it but I will take your word for it.

Serge:

I've said it before and I'll say it again --- You are outta control!

As much as I like to see Ovations go for big bucks, I hope you get this cheap as it will be going to a good home!

Hey Serge, sell me some of your guitars so you have room for new ones! The 1674 is a nice instrument. Make sure you upgrade the jack washer. You don't see many nylon string guitars in sunburst finish. Not sure why. Kind of like a white irish catholics wearing a fubu jackets.

Out of control?
Bones, I have been selling guitars lately, not buying.
I sold 4 great guitars and 1 mandolin last month. I miss them all but....... I have decided to only keep what I use and need for a certain job.

Dave, I wish I had more guitars to sell, but I don't, I am down to the keepers.

The 1674 is my main Ovation. I have 2, a natural and a sunburst, great cutaway nylon hybrid guitar.

It is an extremely rare model, only made for 2 years and yes, you dont see any sunburst nylon string guitars out there, unless you go to one of my shows ;)

So, I will go for this one if it stays reasonable, so I can send it to the "mother ship" for a preamp upgrade, gold tuners and washer of course and some TLC.

My favorite Ovations are Country Artists for nylon strings and I have found I like the Glen Campbell models 1627 for steel strings more than any other model, even the Adamas.

So my 2 favorite models are discontinued items!

I am looking for a sunburst Glen Campbell 1627 and old GC models, if anyone has one for sale, please contact me.

Did they reissue the Glen Campbell 1627 once?

Dave? I want one!

Serge, There was a re-issue 1627 Glen Campbell last year in VERY limited numbers. I think Rick said less than 15 of them were made. Wait until next year and maybe you get lucky.

Well, the auction ended last night.

Tony helped me secure the winning bid and we got it.
I want to thank him and everyone else that kept from bidding at the auction, so I could get this old sunburst cutaway Country Artist 1674.

It will be put to good stage use.

Want to clarify something - I determined what I would pay for it, made the bid (higher than end price), and ended up the high bidder. Important to note that there is nothing wrong in communicating among others during the auction, just not appropriate to attempt to manipulate bidding. I appreciate, and reciprocate, when asked by someone if asked how serious I am...kind of the "want" v. "need."

But what could I do, Serge was spoiled by the dark sunburst one he got from TRBOY...and, now he needs a backup to continue to give us enjoyment with his music. Good to know that it will be used to perform. So, it will come to me then to Serge when he comes back from Mexico.

Way to go Tony! Now if Serge will send it off to the Mothership and get the same TLC done on this one....he'll have the twin sister to the one he got from me!! (gold jack washer and all)

You got it for a super low price....even tho it had issues I expected it to sell higher than it did.(and this one had a OHSC) the natural one that sold for over $800 a month or so back had issues and only a gig bag!! Go figure

I agree, should have seller send direct to Kim...course, as busy as they are now, might be a long time.

I have two of the -4's (one from Serge) and the 1763.

Ahem, the gold jack washer (if Serge wants the best), comes from the P. Moody reserve at Ovation. They do not hand them out without my authorization. Check with Keller.
