| Played the lx 12 string (center hole) at guitar center. It was an orangy/amber burst (is this a made for GC color?). Anyway... it played well enough, felt good, but it wasn't the slam-dunk I was expecting. It performed fairly well for an item in its price range, but not a wow. In fact, there was a Black 12 string Takamine next to it that was a better buy (for the sound, feel, and features) at about $200 less. I'm a bit disappointed because I thought the lx elements that result in such a pleasingly solid sound for a 6 string would lead to an outstanding 12 string sound. Of course, this is just one guitar, and I'm looking to try out others. |

Location: SoCal | I was in Hollywood yesterday and stopped by the Guitar Center there. They had an LX 12 string next to a used 1979 GC 12 string. I tuned up and played the LX and was again impressed by the smoothness of the sound and ease of playability. If I was in the market, I'd have no trouble buying one.
Didn't play the GC 12, but the price tag said $1700. I think they are optimistic, but I hope they get it. |

Has anyone seen an Adamas 12 string that incorporates either a new bowl or a new neck system? |
