The March issue of Forbes FYI magasine, nice shot of an Adamas 12 with some guy. Also there was an interesting article about collecting on p.61 with an old Stromberg (or Eppiphone) picture. Unfortunately the person before me at the Range Rover dealer's wait room ripped it out. I guess he was fed up with their slllooooowwwwwww service too.

The service manager is from West Hartford, CT and was married to a girl I went to 3-8th grade with. World is small these days. Their service still sucks, but then it isn't any different from all the others.

lady stonebobbo has given up on the Land Rover dealer out here. She's using my local mechanic now ... service is much faster and you only need to go in once to get the problem solved. And with as much as we've been visiting the local wrench recently, it's nice to do business with someone you like.

Plus, he's got an autgraphed picture of Eddie Rabbitt sporting an Ovation hanging on the wall ... next to the one of Richard Petty. :)

Here is another sighting.
The E-channel...True Hollywood Stories..The FULL HOUSE story.
They showed a very old (high school?) picture of Bob Saget holding a Custom Legend.
#1...This has to be the most obscure Ovation sighting ever.
#2...I was channel surfing when I came on this...really. I was not watching the True Hollywood Story about Full House! I don't know anything about that show concerning young widower Danny Tanner struggling to raise his 3 young girls after the tragic loss of his wife, Pam Tanner. Of course he did have the help of "uncle" Joey Gladstone and his friend Jesse.

Apropos of nothing, I refuse to take my vehicles to dealers for servicing. I got to know the manager of the local Firestone/fixit place and the service/fees are outstanding/reasonable. For instance, my truck needed new brakes (the fronts were >100% used...that's a story). He told me I'd get the usual 'make it worth your while' discount. Turns out I needed a serp. belt and PS fluid, too. Anyway, first time the estimate is ~$400 for everything (oh, and an oil change and something else). Second time I talked to him (when the work was complete) he had it down to $344. When I went in after work to pick it up, the total was $312. Hell, the rotors alone are a substantial chunk of that. And I guarantee I won't need to take it back for repairs to the repairs.

The Ford dealer, OTOH, once replaced a thermostat for me. It failed a week later and they wanted me to pay for the labor to replace it...after all, they only guarantee the parts. WTF? I got cheesed off and did it myself (which is what I should have done the first time). Anyway...

hey cruster...I love my Firestone Fixit Place...I know the manager there too and to be honest...this place is the most reasonable, trust-worthy place I have ever taken my caddy...my first experience was after hours...I lost 2 tires and the manager stayed more than 2 hrs overtime and at that time I didn't know it wa after-hours...he explained he just wanted to help me out...can u belive it????

Sears!
When I sent my Wife to have the car get a Tire Rotation I had no idea that all those other things were about to go bad as well! A little expensive but what is piece of mind worth anyway?

On a really dumb programme last week - the 100 greatest albums ever - there was a clip of Duran Duran playing live with Simon Le Bon playing an O. Actually it was hanging round his neck, he was waving his arms above his head.

100 greatest albums? Highest Dylan was #55, Alanis Morisette was in the top 10 and Radiohead won. I apologise on behalf of the Uk to anyone who may be offended by this. This is what happens when you let the public vote, Radiohead, Bush, Blair....

I've often felt that there should be a written "competency" test administered before people are allowed to vote . . . . or breed, for that matter.

Re: "This is what happens when you let the public vote"

Never underestimate the power of a lot of stupid people!

Cliff, During a cancelled trial de-brief while serving Jury Duty the Prosecuter remaked "There's no Lifeguard in this Gene Pool".

Too true.

Any greatest list is always populated by the current crop of bands that the 14-24 years old like, They are they ones who vote.....we just grip about the good ole days!

That would explain why I am chronically disappointed "Flock of Seagulls" misses this list every year since '80.

That's strange! Because the Seagulls around here almost never miss!

I do miss the hairdo though.

And I raaaaaan, I ran so far awaaaaayyyy.
And I raaaaaan, I ran both night and day.
But, I couldn't get away.

FoS had some good tunes. I'll take just about any of the 80s New Wave stuff over the current crop of 'pop' crap. If I hear that 'your roses smell like poopoo' thing on the radio one more time I'm liable to...I don't know what.

I recently looked up and printed out the tabs for it and added it to the song book.
