I think the current rate is 1.62 guitars per room.
Amps are negotiable, but certainly not worth an entire room.

That formula won't work if we downsize after the second kid leaves this fall. Works for now, though, because we have a big house.
I like the Ovation to Taylor ratio better. My 3 O's and one Applause still don't equal our friend's $2400 Taylor.
As I said above, though, logic doesn't work. When the next bout of GAS gets really bad, I'll play her "I'll Have to Say I Love You In a Song" and that will be good for a couple more.

Yep, I like the OT ratio as well.
The guy I play guitar with in church is really competitive. When I got my original O, a 95 Ultra Deluxe, he bought a Martin. I bought a Strat, he showed up a couple weeks later with a $1600 Godin. Then about a year and a half ago I got my 1867. One week later he comes in with a $2200 Taylor. Recently I've acquired my 1866 and 6778. Now he says he's getting an HD-28 and an American Strat.
I've spent about $3400, play pretty much every day and am very happy. He'll be in for at least $8000, plays maybe twice a week and is always finding his guitars wanting in some respect.

Sad and hilarious at the same time. Sometimes I'm tempted to 'try' a new guitar from GC every week and see if he implodes.
But, of course, he's a friend and of course, that wouldn't be the Christian thing to do...

Hey Tony!

Can you lend Waskel a small rotation of Special "O's". I want to see how far this can go!

hehe. Thanks, Mike, but don't encourage me. I don't want to see the guy go bankrupt.
It would probably be enough to do him in if I just bring in catalog pages of "the next one I'm getting".
Funny, he sits and plays my 6778 and marvels at how nice it sounds, then blows 3 times as much on a guitar that sounds only marginally better acoustic, and can't touch mine plugged in.
Ah, well...

I'm with Waskel. I think that the 6778LX (especially NEB - I can't stop looking at it ...) is the best U.S. guitar value in the business. Well that and the 1778T. Different sounds, but exceptional guitar for the dollar ratio.

I've boiught and sold a bunch of axes looking for the one(s) that speak THROUGH me. I can't imagine ever letting the 6778LX-NEB leave the stable. It speaks in languages that only my soul understands ...

12-string s-shallow bowl update:

Went to my local GC yesterday. They looked "in the chain" and came up with one 1866, condition unknown. A call to the Mothership was made and I was told they have one left, in Natural. Nothing else out there in the cyber world. So it looks like, at least for now, it is discontinued.
