Also known as a bass drum trigger, bass foot pedal, bass foot pedals, foot stomp, kick drum trigger bass drum foot pedal, bass drum foot pedals, bass stomp, drum beat box, bass stomp boxes, double bass drum foot pedal double bass foot pedal, double bass foot pedals, foot pickup, foot snare, foot tap, foot trigger mini stompbox, small stompbox, stompbox mic, stompbox pickup, chicken box, stompbox guitar wooden drum and many other names around the world."

I saw a duo last year that used a stomp box. It was the first time I'd seen (heard) one. He just made his own box and cut some foam to fit one of his extra mics in it. Worked great.

Yadda yadda, stompystomp.... who cares? Buy a cajon and find someone who can count to 4. It's another wage but a lot more interesting.

I've seen them around a bit with solo players. They can be a soft or as intrusive as you like.

There is a man in Oz who made the Breadwinner lookalike lapsteel AJ has that makes pretty good ones too.

I got one and they are fun to play with.

Bottom line....if you can't tap your foot and keep a rhythm you are in deep cotton anyway.
