Pickup any supposed quality guitar, AFTER it's been setup to play, and see if the pickup tops, surround tops, the distances and surfaces are all parallel. It's a silly thing, doesn't affect the sound, wouldn't notice it if they weren't all lined up and you weren't specifically looking.... But I have never seen a Hamer that isn't lined up like that. Of course the other item is the heel joint. And granted some Hamers are "Hamerized" I believe the term is... it's just another attention to detail that is many times overlooked on guitars that cost AT LEAST twice as much.

And the tone! The Seth Lovers pickups are smoooth. Sustain, character, and a nice wood aroma from the body. You may have to play hooky from work on Tuesday. :p

After six months of searching and never finding my "perfect" model, I finally custom ordered a blinged and repupped Monoco III through Al. If I could only keep one electric guitar, this would be it. I hope they're allowed to continue their autonomous operation under the FMIC umbrella. Members of the Hamer Fan Club forum are as fanatical about their Hamers as we are with our Ovations, and for very good reason.
