Now, I just have to learn to play the thing before he comes back to visit......... I am probably biased towards Ovations, since they're pretty much all my Dad ever played while I was growing up, but an Ovation fan is an Ovation fan, right???

And yes, an Orthopod Tech is an assistant to an Orthopedic Surgeon - I'm a Surgical Technician, but I now work for a Out-patient Surgery Center that is a connected to the largest Orthopedic practice in my area - if you need surgery, come to Coastal Orthopedics and Sports medicine--I'll get you a discount for some guitar lessons !!!

When I was but a lad, Dad and I started calling each other "Jack" from the line in the movie "Stripes" (That's that facts, Jack!!!) Of course, being a teen-ager, I had dreams of playing the guitar and becoming a rock star, but the running joke was that Dad and I were going to form our own music studio and call it "Jack and Jack Music Industries" But, as usual with teenagers, I lacked the patience and discipline to actually sit down and LEARN to play, so now I'm trying to do it 20 years later..... Now that I own 2 guitars, I guess I'm out of excuses and have to get to work....

Joined: February 2005 Posts: 9 Location: alabama | My Dad (a trombone player who always wanted to be a guitarist) bought me my first Ovation back in 1977 after my college roommate had one too many Malt Duck's and stepped on the neck of an nice Tel Star hummingbird copy that was my only guitar at the time. I have never looked back or owned any other brand since. Welcome to the club and thanks for bringing back some great memories of my own.
