Location: Upper Left USA | During the week of July 10th My family and I will be vacationing close to Coeur d'Alene area, starting at the Silverwood Theme Park.
Any OFC'ers nearby or suggested "gottasees"?

Location: Boise, Idaho | Been there a lot. Done the Silverwood thing. I'm not much for amusement parks. Back in our camping days we stayed at Farragut State Park and went boating on Lake Pend Orielle. Take a drive around the east side of CDA Lake. Go up to Priest Lake. I think it's the prettiest of the 3 big lakes up there. Play the golf course with the floating green. It's only about $160 and you can lose a bunch of balls in the lake. I think if you rent a room at the resort for $200 or so they might discount the green fees.
Take a river boat ride on CDA lake. Lots of beautiful country up there if you get off the Interstate a little. |

I wish I could join you. I lived up there for 15 years and I really miss it. If you can get up to Sandpoint, you can ride the lifts up to the top of the Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort. Nice views. Sandpoint also has a small marina called The Windbag at City beach were you can rent sailboats, sailboards, paddleboats, and canoes. I second Mark's suggestion on Priest Lake. At the northern end of the lake on the West side there is a campground called Beaver Creek (I installed the water system) and a nice trail that goes to Upper Priest Lake. It has to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Have fun! |

Had a great time. I reccomend the area to anyone.
Did the Silverwood thing, nice park. Checked out CDA and took the Boat Tour. Stayed at the Farragut State Park for the most part. Did make it up to Sandpoint and looked around a bit.
While playing the Elite T in the campground a passerby remarked "there's a different guitar".
Just don't call it plastic! |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Idaho is not known for its forward thinkers. There was a phrase on a T-shirt, "Idaho is what America was," that applies to alot of things besides the wilderness area that it was supposed to refer to. |

My Wife was raised in eastern WA so it was kind of a homecoming passing through.

Location: Boise, Idaho | I will volunteer my cabin in McCall. If the remodel isn't finished, you may have to pound a few nails or drive a few screws in the deck. Just a short ways to a private beach and a couple blocks the other direction to the golf course. Should have the mother of all decks finished by then, so we could jam on the deck. No neighbors on 3 sides either and the ones next door are never there. I will need to have at least one 1537 there, though, so I can see what I keep missing. We sleep about 17 at last count, but most of those were kids and there are only 2 small bathrooms. |

I didn't get any takers on my offer to host the NW OFC gathering at my cabin. I was more than halfway serious, but know that the vacation season may be over for most of us. I also figured that the largest response I'd get was 4, so I'd even supply the beer. Guess I'll have to drink it all myself. |
