My father was at either a college or music store (I forgot which one he said), and he saw acoustics with the rounded plastic backs of Ovation Acoustics, but they did not say Ovation on them (he later forgot the name).

I'm pretty sure Takamine doesn't make Ovation style bodies (even though they're owned by them).

Does anybody else know what he saw?

There's a bunch of knock-offs you see on e-bay. Basically anything with a plastic bowl they will advertise as Ovation-like, Designed-by-Ovation, Ovation-approved, faux-Ovation, etc.

I learned one thing in the kitchen growning up. My mom always said don't buy cheap imitations. Buy the real Tupperware.

I've seen them by jay turser and Galveston. There are others that crop upon ebay all the time.

Another way of saying " Don't test drive a BMW if you only have a Chevrolet budget". :)

There was a guy at a Jam that I went to that had one.

Wasn't too bad of a guitar either.
