Location: Massachusetts | Ok folks, how do you deal with the location of the top strap button on the bowl?
Every single strap naturally rests on the edge of my neck cutting into my neck. The strap will move over the shoulder a bit but always comes back to scraping my neck.
I tried a regular strap, a Neotech axe strapp and a fat fat leather one. So far the fat fat leather one is the most comfortable but it still rubs.
I just bought an 05 collectors and put a Planet Waves strap on with a pad that has a detachable end that goes around the headstock. I have it that way now bypassing the body pin but I'd rather use the leather or the Neotech on the O.
But they rub my neck. What do you do? |

Location: Venice, Flo | Maybe you should let incrase strap length and see how your neck handles the change. Perhaps you could slice a small concave arc out of a wide strap. Or, create the first guitarist leather neck guard.... You could have different ornate designs on it. Just a thought. :D |

How about.....
"Up against the wall red neck O.F.C'r"........
I also use the planet wave strap with the slide pad. It works pretty well in keeping the strap off my neck, except when I forget to position it when I start up.
Good Luck.

Location: 6 String Ranch | I knew a bass player who put the strap pin on the top horn of his P bass and used a sax strap. Maybe try one of these? |
