I have a red viper solidbody that I have been thinking about matching up with a red preacher solidbody. Then I realized that I don't think I have ever seen a red preacher. Was red a color that preachers came in?

The Preacher came in Sunburst, White, Mahogany and Blonde. Preacher Deluxe came in Black and Blonde. In some of the catalogs the Mahogany is called "Red" and the Blonde is called "Natural". Dave

Is this one the Mahogany that is sometimes refered to as red or is it Blonde that is sometimes refered to as natural?

It depends on the year. Earlier ones were satin finish and had a more brown color. The later gloss ones with the name on the pickguard is more red. Mine was the earlier type. Yes, you are right about the greyburst but that was only offered in 1-2 years. The white was discontinued to make room for the greyburst, so they were never offered at the same time. Dave

I didn't want to come out and say it, but yes Bill is correct. I think it looks rather like the blood stained handle on OJ's kitchen knife. Dave

I guess it looks good on the SG and I guess if you like preecheurs it looks good there too. It DOES look good on a 335. I don't like SGs or preecheers but ya'll probably figured that out already.

Dave, just put a dp on a custom made 12-fret slothead cutaway with acoustical top holes. Freakin sounds awesome. Custom build in 6 months since I went with Indian rosewood over the brazillian (at +3 grand to the cost!!!)

That is the closest I've seen to matching my viper. However, mine is a little darker red. Would you be interested in selling yours?

Dleegblue,

Unfortunately, this guitar is not mine.
The pics were sent to me by a nice guy in Memphis before he sold it on Ebay in the last december!
I don't know who's the new owner.
