I've used their 1818 light gauge strings. I like them, just got sidetracked trying another brand. I'll certainly put a bottom feeder bid on one these. Especially now that my left hand is starting to feel pretty burly after putting mediums on my 2005-ES.

Don't let it go too much higher than it is. They're going to charge at least $10 for s/h - you can get them for $4.12 at stringitup. If you bought 10 sets the shipping would be free.

The 1818 are great, if you like lite guage. Use them all the time.

I've recently tried a few sets; am trying both light and medium to see which are right for me; they're hard to find locally - I picked up a few sets on vacation (WAY overpriced, but I like to help small town businesses) and have been impressed so far.

So tell me again why all Ovations don't leave the factory with these on them...or do they?

I use the 1818 and 1717 strings exclusively, and have for about 6 years. They're hard to find, so I order them from www.stringitup.com. They have very fast, very friendly service - and I can buy 6 packs of them for around $30 w/shipping.

Ovation strings their guitars with daddario EXP coated light gauge to reduce the chance of a perspective buyer finding a guitar in a music shop with dead strings...Rick Hall still swears by Adamas 1818's..

I believe, similar to gasoline refinement and coffee beann roasting, there are very few actual manufacturers.
There are order specifications and various levels of seconds.

So, #77, from where did you sift that little trade secret (that D'Addario makes O strings)?

Inquiring minds want to know (but keep your voice down)...

He can give you a full report for $450 a day plus expenses. For a little extra Paul can "sing and play" the answer.

Guy's gotta make a living you know.
