Location: brisbane,australia | Hello all.
Ive had an Ovation Viper electric for about 15 years now but couldnt find much info about it here in Australia. No one ive met here has ever owned one. I know they are not that rare but i dont know how old it is exactly or what they are worth. its in perfect condition but i dont want to sell it anyway.
Its a cream coloured with a white scratch plate.
I love to play it, but are Vipers considered to be a well made guitar?..
im new here and all the info is probably under my nose, but if anyone could fill me in a little about it that would be excellent.
cheers. |

Although I'm a big fan, I'm far from the expert that you'll find here. They should be coming out of the woodwork anytime. Again, welcome aboard, stop back often and, above all, feel free to contribute! :) |

G'Day mate (I bet you guy's are tired of that one from Yanks).
Vipers came out about the same time as the Deacons and such. They are Strat competitors by design and can do bright lead work on their 24 frets. Very simple electronics, very straight forward playability. Naturals, sunbursts and some subtle solids. Most are Ash and some are Maple. An occasional Mahogany was thrown in.
I have dressed up a few broken ones and I find them fascinating and relatively available.
Enjoy! |
