Has anyone watched the Art Garfunkel DVD "Across America - Live from Ellis Island". Some seriously nice acoustic work by Eric Weissberg. Dave

Yes he can play but I've not seen the DVD. Not that big a fan of Artie.

One of the worst recordings in history is the Art Garfunkel / Amy Grant Christmas album. Haven't beeen able to stomach him ever since.

Yeah, yeah, yeah Artie, Amy, need Paul etc. The point is that Eric does some DAMN nice guitar work on this DVD. Plus he's got Warren Barnhart playing piano and Tom Biglin on keys. That's one hell of a line up even if you don't care for Art's music. Dave

I always liked his take on Tim Moore's "2nd Avenue". A bit schmaltzy & syrupy, but a nice production . . . .

I've heard tapes of the last S&G Tour & it sucked.
Everything was pretty much dropped down a key & a half, and they were pretty much singing in unison . . . no harmony whatsoever . . "take the money & run" . . .

The problem is that there is no harmony in their relationship, either. Tough to make magic when you can't stand the person next to you.

If you've ever been in a band for a long time you know it happens all the time!

Simon and Garfunkel went to Forest Hills High School. I went there a few years later. I guess that they wouldn't show up for their high school reunion. I remember sitting at one of those old wooden desk and chair things. Someone carved Paul Simon's name on the desk near the inkwell. I assumed that he would not be stupid enough to put his own name on the desk.
