Met up with Richard (The Artist) and his wife today. It was a short meeting as he's heading south and my neck of the woods is a convenient resting point. Met him in Macca's carpark out on the highway, about 15 minutes from my place. He didn't have room for his guitar but I took mine to introduce it to a fellow OFC'er. He still had another eight hours of driving in front of him. Great to meet you and Marlene, mate...and Louie, the dog. Have a safe trip and enjoy the Xmas/New Year break. Hope the traffic isn't too bad out there. It's made me even more eager for an '09 gathering.

Sounds like fun but you don't say if you took turns jamming.

Didn't have enough time for jamming OLJ. It was just a 15 minute coffee break for Richard before hitting the road again. Richard played my 1860 and I played the dog, Louie, who was tuned to the key of..........D :D

All of the OzOFC have met Louie now.

Pity you couldn't stay longer, Rich. Steve and Donna are great hosts.

Richard,

It looks a little warmer than the Smokey's Jam.

Also the ground looks a little flatter. Iffy would like that. :D

Richard,

That's what the front passenger seat is for! Plus it has the seat belt...

A couple years ago I took the OFC guitar to San Diego as my passenger in the Boxster. Trip down was uneventful, but the two Deputies who stopped me in Nevada on the way back really gave the guitar the once over. They stood on each side, right behind the doors, looking in the windows and talking to each other about what it was before they figured out it was a guitar. I suppose they didn't think that I could hear them through the cloth top of the convertible.

Priorities. My wife flew ahead. Paul, I've found that many people don't realize how thin the convertible tops are, including me. My previous convertible was a VW bug, which had about an inch of insulation in the middle and a glass window. This one has one layer and a plastic window.

Oh c'mon, there's ALWAYS room for a guitar! I'm leaving for the in-laws in the morning. Last time they visited they drove here, so I had them take back with them one of my guitars. No way can I go 10 days without playing!
