There was a bit of a scandal last Winter:

It seems that somebody wrote "W is a Moron" in the snow behind the White House in much the same fashion . . . .

An investigation ensued, and DNA analysis showed that it came from Dick Cheney . . . . .

. . . further analysis showed that it was Laura's handwriting . . . .

I told my wife about this and she wasn't impressed. She just wanted to know how I found out about it. I didn't tell her that the OFC is the source of all my knowledge.

Being a life long Florida boy, I have never known the thrill of a good snow pee. Peed on the beach, but that's probably not the same...

My last name is Polish, so it was awfully hard to spell it in the snow when I was growing up in Wisconsin. Then we moved to North Dakota and had more snow, but the kids didn't drink as much beer. That meant less ammunition. Plus, when it's 40 below without the wind chill, the last thing you think of is whipping it out to spell your name.

What's so hard about writing Polish in the snow?

I knew someone would have a problem with that. Kind of like the people that say or write "your name" when told to insert "your name" here.

In the small town where I grew up (displaced Minnesotan that I am), we lived next door to the mayor. He was a very cool guy, and told this story (when I was older) about growing up in Wisconsin (is everyone in Michigan a transplant?). His name was Frederick, his brother was Patrick. In the winter, they'd have contests to see who could write their name the fastest in the snow, but his brother always won. As the story went, it took Frederick several years to realize that he was 'writing' his full name, and Pat wasn't.

It seemed funnier before I typed it out. And when I was younger. Sure miss him, though.
