Leftover's...turkey, chili, shrimp, nacho's,
served al-a-carte w/plenty of Russian Earl Grey tea and of course: FOOTBALL....

Since I can't go out, it's the perfect New Years Day...

I'll pay for it later...lol

NOT the traditional "Southern" hog jowls and black eyed peas.

Probably a couple of steaks on the grill, rice and a fresh salad.

Followed by a big cup of joe.

OK, I'll pass on the jowls also. BUT, a batch black eye peas simmered half a day with just a bit of hog back with some onions and okra... soooo good that your taste buds will slap your face silly! Gotta get some Apalachicola Bay oysters for appetizers and dessert on the half shell. Dem grilled steaks sounds like a winner too...

I went to two different stores to get Oysters (Chesapeake Bay): all they had were half pints and pints...and the prices were outragious...it sucks being so far from home: I grew up on the Bay...now I'm 8 hours away...we used to get oysters by the bushel basket for $30 bucks...now they wanted that for a half pint...makes you want to scream......

Still, If I can get out, I may look today again...hate to break tradition...

UPDATE:
Success! SWMBO just found a quart of selects for a decent price on her way home from work...gotta love that woman!
