Welcome to the mêlée.

You can find USA made 12-strings for FAR less than you might expect. Ebay (many despise) has many good deals, though you are buying without playing. I picked up a 1751 Standard Balladeer 12-string for $163 off the bay. Once it got some TLC, it was a great deal and a good guitar.

It's a good thing my wife doesn't read this stuff. She'd be saying, "You paid twice that for your 1751 and told me it was a great deal." Actually, she barely knows the difference between a 12 string and a 6 string.
I did have some friends over looking at all the guitars and this blonde asked what the difference was between a 12 string and a 6. All the guys just groaned.
