I had Kim & company put an OP-Pro into my 1778T (replaced the OP-30 with the OP-Pro). I think that replacement job ran about $150 (+/-). WELL worth the money imho.

Except that the OP30 and Pro cans are interchangable. Robbie, all they probably charged you for was the preamp. Big Money's had to be routed out for the can.

Yeah, they replaced the preamp with the Pro (drop-in), but they also changed the thinline pickup to the Original Patented Pickup which required re-routing the bridge to accept the wider saddle. A real nice upgrade for the 1778T. Much smoother, and much less "quacky" sound out of the piezo. I gotta believe that the route job for the different shaped can for Big Money shouldn't be much more that $50 (+/-). Of course, actually I'm just plain ignorant. Who am I to say what it would cost. Only the mothership knows for sure ...

Not only did they have to rout the hole for the new can, they had to glass up the old holes for the two knobber. I also got the XLR so the didn't have to patch the output holes from the orig stereo setup.

DOH! Knew it had to be one or the other and was too lazy to look it up before I typed it. Glad someone got the reference though.
