| Hey guy's what numbers would I ask for if I arrange to have my Adamas refitted at the Mother Ship for newer style electronics? I have a fantastic Adamas 1587 that has the three band eq and volume knob. I guess I am looking for the next generation set up that is still designed for the rectangular shape but has the mid shift and shape buttons on it as well.

| I thought the Optima was the oval shaped pre apm that you can pop out? Anyway if they make this so it fits in the space prvided then Optima it is! Thanks
I see Samova is selling some stuff perhaps some lucky soul will be kind enough to buy all of it all and part out some of it to the rest of us?

All the newest versions of the preamps are rounded. If you don't want to reshape the whole you will need to go for a slightly older version that is still rectangular... |

| That's it. OK The Optima. I have never contacted the factory, is there someone I should contact about this? Should I mention The Fan Club (or will this cost me more)? I know I want to try and either take it out on the 30th or perhaps pick it up then. Anyone got a ballpark on the cost for this newer set up.
One more silly question will they send me one in the mail and let me install it??

Optima is good and the service department will take good care of you. While you are doing the P/A upgrade I would highly suggest you also have an external battery hatch installed. It'll cost you a 1" x 3/4" piece of lyrachord but well worth the investment. |

| Lucky enough I have the battery compartment on mine as well. Just need the newer sounds Man.

Location: SoCal | I'm pretty certain that you can't put the newer oval shaped preamp on a guitar with the older rectangular preamp. I don't believe that the newer one will completely cover the hole left by the old one. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Naw, you leave the old P/A right where it is. Cut a new hole for the new one. Tell people you use one pre-amp for indoor gigs and the other for outdoor. Sometimes for a big stadium concert you may have to use both. It'll really freak them out. Almost like an adamas with 2 walnut knobs that don't attach to anything. Dave |

last year I replaced the OP24 preamp of my Adamas 1688 to the Optima premp. It fits the same hole but the replacement is not as simple as most people think. The preamps are not 100 percent compatible. If you need more info don't hesitate to contact me. But I think the factory would do a great job!

| Nice Karl. Yep that's what I am after. My 1688 has the original wooden knobs so I would never want to change anything on that one but my later 1587 ( I got from Al) has the deep bowl cutaway and it does have the little battery compartment door as well.
I will see what the factory says is the best way to go. If there is some minor mdifications I will be happy to do it myself but if it is fairly involved I will send it home and let mother take care of her.

I have done the exact same modification to my 1685 as well as to my 1986 collectors. All you have to do is enlarge the 4 screw holes where the preamp is mounted. Also you'll have to drill a hole in the bowl for the XLR jack. This can be a bit tricky. I decided not to do this, I simply desoldered the XLR jack from the circuit board.(you could always put it back later if you really need it) I hope this helps, good luck. |

Location: Keller, TX | Sorry, don't have an exact price for just the OpPro. Had to get a neck reset and some cosmetic work done on the binding and a dent repaired in the back of the neck.
I was going to need to replace all of the electronics anyway, the orig 2-knobber had a short somewhere. It was either this or the Optima (both with XLR). I chose the OpPro. |
