Location: Maryland | Is it possible to switch OP pre-amps from one guitgar to another? I have an Ovation 6778 LX with the OP Pro and an Ovation Pinnacle with the OP 30. I think I like the OP 30 better. I tried switching them - it fit perfectly- but it would not function properly (the OP 30) in the Ovation 6778 LX.... Any simple mods?

Location: closely held secret | BHB's right. While the preamp body shape is the same, the cans are wired differently. |

Loooks like 2 screws on the exterior- is the wiring on the back of the can easy to remove- ie NOT soldered? |

Location: closely held secret | The OPPro is easy. Plugs for both pickup and output. Not sure about the OP30. Probably just a matter of unplugging them - if they used the same plug size for both preamps. My guess is they did. |
