Shopping around (on line) I've found a nice W597 that I was giving serious consideration, as well as the UTE currently on the bay (the 1 that supposedly belonged to GC, played by Ziggy M & looking a little dusty), then came across a 1597 for a couple hundred $s less. What confuses me about this 1 is, it says "Ovation" on the headstock, and has an Ovation SN. Is this a legit situation? Would it be a lesser quality instrument than a 'true' Adamas? Thanks for any input, Kevin & Merry Christmas!

Don't know if this was a conscious decision by the factory or a glitch, but either way it didn't last long. I've only ever seen this on the SMTs. Apart from the logo there's no difference.

Joined: December 2008 Posts: 4 Location: NNJ | Thanks for the replies... Since it is a legitimate Adamas, and hundreds (at least 2!) than anything else I've seen, I took the plunge and ordered it. Here's the gbase link: http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearDetails.aspx?Item=1932199 Hopefully I'll have it by the end of next week. Maybe in time I'll feel the need to upgrade to a textured top Adamas, but it seems to me like a great place to start. Bet it'll sound better than my Seagull, or even my 3/4 sized Applause!

I think it'll sound better than your Applause, too. :) Welcome to the club. Let's us know when you get it!
