And as far as being on the Ovation Artists list, I do not know what other merit one has to do to be there besides play it professionally, record and travel with it, and letting Ovation know about it.
Not to mention all the money we spend on them.

One of the fallacies (or traps) that we make or fall into is to categorize an artist...I have listened to a number of Serge's CD's. From his current to "Riverwalk" to his Christmas.

He is an artist with music and style that is "crossover". Yes, the Spanish/Classical background but crosses over into a number of other styles. Good example is playing at the San Antonio Jazz Festival.

Whether he is playing a nylon or steel string, he is playing an Ovation or Adamas...a reinforcement of their quality.

I was honored that Serge used my Adamas II on two tracks of his new CD that he and Ed (Reyes) are working on. Ed played a Martin, Serge the Adamas. Used external microphone, not "plugged in".

Looking forward to getting a copy or two of the CD when completed.

Likewise, Serge. I'll even take an unsigned copy if you let me know how to buy one. My wife hasn't bought any new Christmas music for awhile and she plays it constantly from Thanksgiving to January.

Serge is my hero when it comes to making some GREAT music with Ovation guitars.

But, I suspect he could do it with any guitar, so his use of Ovations is an endorsement that should be at least noted by the "mother ship".

I am a little disappointed with the dearth of well known people playing Ovations since the newest guitars are great in every way, acoustic sound, quality, and amplified sound.

My guess, because I am old and suspicious of all established organizations run by "managers" rather than visionaries, is that seeing all those countrey people whanging away on Takamines (which they sell also) has clouded their vision.

Keep up the good work Serge, what goes around, comes around. both good and bad.

Bailey

Nice picture. I was under the impression that Serge is hispanic. Seeing the photo confuses me on that idea. These are two of the whitest, anglo looking people I've seen in a while. They appear to be more Swedish, than Hispanic. Spanish/European perhaps? I know the Norsemen, for centuries, traveled the west coast of Europe. Are we seeing that influence here, or am I going blind? I'd like to get a signed copy of Serges' Navidad CD too. Cheers, Buckaroo

Muchas Gracias, mein herr. The check's in the mail. Stoney, thanks for the compliment, I try. Sleepy, it wasn't the grey that got me, it was the red. Holland is what I'm seeing. By the way, I really like my 1624 guitar. It sounds purdy good. Cheers

Buck, the 1624 is a sweet guitar. I recently bought one of Serge's flock of Country Artists. I think the guitar still has a little mojo left on it. Also totally agree with Baily. Serge is a gifted artist and performer.

In addition to his Christmas CD, Serge has other amazing CDs available. Get them direct from Serge. If you haven't got one yet, get one, you'll be glad you did!

Thanks, I will. I bought the nylon on the bay, thanks to some encouragement from the OFC. The axe has some cosmetic concerns, but, I did not have to mortgage the house to get it. Amplified, it has a clear, mellow tone. The sound is unlike any of my other instruments, so it provides a welcome contrast. I'll put up a picture soon in my album, in the gallery. I've got a couple of pix already placed there of others.

Buck, I know what you mean about the sound, I was looking for something that sounded completely different from my other guitars. I'm very happy with the CA.
