I tried a Celebrity CC059 nylon string guitar (see earlier post), but the action was a bit too high (due to the neck angle and bridge height), and too costly to lower. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Balladeer S773-4 nylon string guitar. What's the action like? The sound? The craftsmanship?

Craftsmanship level is right up there. You shouldn't have an adjustability issue, shims and neck relief. What about a Country Artist?

I wanted to stay around $500-600, new, with a case. Hence the CC059. The S773 can be had for about $760, without a case, which is a bit of a stretch on my budget. I was just curious as to their action and all, in case I opted to wait awhile and save for it. And the Country Artist is higher still, so I wouldn't go up to that.

Didn't they useto call that model The Country Artist Special? Essentially it's a Nylon version of the Balladeer. If you'll call Al, He might be able to get you a good price on it with a case.

I've played these before. They are nice guitars, but built considerably "cheaper"? than the standard Country Artist, or as it's now know, the Artist. I't got open tuners, a satin finish, and a less expensive 2 piece neck. But it's still a good guitar. Nice tone (unplugged) and very playable.

I contacted Al, as someone suggested, but the S773-4 has been discontinued, so it may be difficult for him to find one at a "really good" price.
