| im trying to decide which guitar to get, can someone tell me the differences, besides the bowl depth, im also wondering if they both sound similar through an amp |

Welcome to the club.There is a difference between acoustic sound with the depth of teh bowl. You'll love the way thet the 1771LX projects acoustically, without an amp.
The shallow bowl was made for plugging in , no doubt about it, If you want better acoustic projection teh mid-depth is the way to go, Ovations all sound good plugged in. but to sound great as an acoustic is icing on the cake.
