I've not posted on this bulletin board before so please bear with me.
I have an Ovation Breadwinner, I bought it about 17 years ago in a state which played great but was not in original condition. The previous owner had "added" modifications which has left the guitar in need of serious TLC and, if I can source the parts, money spent on it.
My questions are...
Are there parts available for the Breadwinner?
Who stocks them?
Is it really worth restoring it? (I love the guitar but can I afford to spend xxxx amount on a guitar worth x)
What is the typical value of a Breadwinner these days?
Hopefully some of you can help. Many thanks

Welcome Bill!
mmmmmmm....Breadwinner
You have come to the right place to get your answers. Some folks here have drawers of items you can't find anywhere else.
Recently a couple have sold on e-bay for $1200! Not very long ago they were selling for about $900. It all depends on if the right person sees your item on e-bay. Here is a pic of mine.

Bill,
Welcome to the site!

The only replacement parts, besides some screws, are the cannabilized ones floating around ebay and garage sales. An original great shape BW or Deacon is getting $750-$900 lately with bent, dented and broken on a descending curve.

I have taken to rehabilitating some parts.

What is "wrong" with yours? Can you post some pictures? sell it to me in whatever shape and I'll worry about the refinish for you!

Take a look in the gallery!

Many thanks for the responses, I am surprised at the inherent (or perhaps!) value of the Breadwinner.
I have imagined that the parts would be almost impossible to get hold of and it seems I guessed correctly (which is a real shame).
I don't have any piccies of it at this moment in time altho I will take a couple and try to attach them here for everyone to see. Many thanks again.... I'll get snapping!
