Joined: January 2004 Posts: 338 Location: SE Michigan | I agree with Tommy M. I recently watched a PBS special titled "Grateful Dead - Closing of Winterland". Quite honestly I was underwhelmed. It was all I could stand to watch the entire concert. I have noticed that when I go back and listen to a lot of the late-60s early-70s music that I thought was incredible at the time, I wonder what the heck I saw in it. I mean how long can you sit and listen to 10 minute guitar solos that run over and over and over the same weary scales. But that being said, I am fond of a lot of the Grateful Dead's more folky stuff. | ||

For me to drive three hours to anything, it'd better have Golden Arches at the end of the trip. | ||
