I have always used a set with the high E at a diameter of .08. I have mostly used Ernie Ball's and Gibson's. I learned the hard way not to use Fender Silver Bullets. Are there any brands or diameters you recomend? If you could, please include your reasons for your recomendations.

Brand is not a big concern for me on my electrics, I can't tell much differences. 10s or 11s seem to have more sustain than do the super lights. Trial and error works well, since the choice is subjective.

Tune to BDGCF#B and see if your windows need more caulking! This is an adaptation (plagarism saves time) of the Matt Smith poor man's baritone. Just a thought.

After five months I'm still exploring the fretboard. It's a guitar, but the notes are in different places. Let's see ... this would be de-tuning an "a" stringed instrument, what would that sound like? Right now it's A,D,G,C,E,A. Detuned would the low A be D#? I guess it would sound like a low chunky mandolin. Probably good for punk rock rhythm. Or maybe a de-tuned uke on steroids. That would be fun.
