1st..plug in da uke. Snap, crackle, pop, hiss.
2nd.. Change cords...same thing.
3rd.. Just like Mark of Idaho would do..take it apart and seek a loose connection. All looked well. Re-assemble...now I don't even get the Rice Krispie thing.
4th..Okay, since I'm all set up, I'll just mic the uke.
5th..Get the Korg Pandora set up.
6th...practice run through a rhythm track.
7th..miss a chord
8th..my strumming finger hits the mic.
9th thru the 25th.. either one of the two above.
26th thru 40th.. layer on a finger-picked track.
3 hours and only two tracks.
I gotta do this more often to get better.
.
I looks like I'll have to take the uke in to be looked at. |

However, recording ukuleles is not easy. At least I have not had good success. There is a lot of strum noise, finger nails hitting the edge of the body, etc. But when done right, the sound is mellow and magic. You'll see (hopefully). |

Location: North Texas | Does Ovation make, or have they ever made ukuleles? I'm not talking about the company contracting out the manufacturing of ukes to offshore groups, I mean "real" USA factory built Ovation products. I'm not a uke player, I was just wondering. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | No USA Ovation ukuleles (yet). There is tremendous pressure on the factory to build two engineering samples a) "book" ukulele, b) textured top "adamas" ukulele. Tenor sized based on mandolin bowls. Dave |
