Location: ky | does anyone know what kind of material this is and is it better than a wooden neck also does it look like wood i have a cc028s and it seems to have a wooden neck...never heard of nato.. |

Location: Hicksville, NY | Definitely a very good question. I asked the same question about 1 and 1/2 years ago, and the only answer I got was that it belongs to the mahogany family, or a type of "lower caste" mahogany ... something like that. :confused:
If my memory serves me correctly, someone even managed to be humorous about it, by writing that NATO was the acronym for "Not Actual Tonewoods Obviously." :D
Either way, it left me with more confusion than answers, and left it at that ... |

It is less expensive (more abundant) than true mahogany. |
