Location: Latitude 39.56819, Longitude -105.080066 | Actually, so far as mods go, this one was done pretty well. At least it was set up with the new pickguard to have just 1 pup and 1 control for the pup. I have seen some mods where there was just a big aching hole and knobs that did nothing.
Wonder what the reserve is....body and paint looked to be in nice shape. |

| I've seen but not played several custom's lately that have "hidden" pups under the pg, most have been preamped tho.

Location: Boise, Idaho | I have a borrowed sheet metal cutter that I haven't returned yet. Maybe I should cut out a bunch of custom chrome pickguards before I give it back and sell them for big bucks. |

The Variax does something like this. A ceramic magnet (hot) like the Dimebag is fairly pow'full. I asked this question over on the Seymour Duncan site.
I have also experimented by setting the pickups low and placing PG material between them and the strings.
If you were to shave a little bit off the back of a BW or Viper neck you could lower the bridge accordingly.
Just a concept and theory at this time... |
