And Waskel, depending on how long they were around it, I think the analogy could be "that's like winning a new guitar that the band has just peed on...", oh, never mind.

When I win, I'll put it up on ebay and see if I can get more than the value of a new guitar plus cover costs and taxes. If not, I'll have a new balladeer. Pretty sweet. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'll even let you know how it compares to my new paragon. After I win that one. I think I'll buy a lottery ticket today!

"But honey, why did you pay $400 with a guitar with a bunch of holes in it." Of course, now she questions my sanity if I look at a guitar with only one hole in the middle.

Joined: February 2005 Posts: 253 Location: New Orleans | If I were to win the Balladeer, after recording a few tunes, I'd send it to the 1st one who can safely remove the sigs and then we can pass it around the club along with Jeff's beautiful roundback. On December 24, 2000 I won a brand new forest green Jeep from the Pepsi Cola company. There were over 25,000 entries from 3 neighboring towns and I submitted one single entry but I used a bright orange peice of paper and then just forgot all about it. Two months later, my terminal dispatcher called me and tried to tell me that the local radio station just announced me as the winner of a Jeep. Prankster that he is, I thought he was once again pulling my leg. Well, it was TRUE! I called to see who had won the drawing and when it was confirmed, I had laryngitis within a half hour! It was just crazy! The taxes I owed was a mere $1200.00 for a brand new Jeep! After driving it for a month and installing a sweet sound system, I lent it to my family and a couple of close friends and each of us were determined to take it 4-wheeling it in the most challenging terrain we could find. My ex took it hunting with the doors off and the windshield strapped down, enabling him to shoot right out of the front seat! :D The video that came with it showed the Jeep steady climbing the a VERY steep incline. What looked near impossible was effortless for that vehicle. That win was one of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me! Has anybody else ever won anything from a contest? Please share your stories! Rock On! LeStranger

Joined: November 2005 Posts: 5 Location: Texas | My dad gave me an ovation signed by Richie Sambora he won from a contest. He signed it right where my arm rubs when I play. As it started to rub off I went ahead and rubbed off everything but the sam (my name). I then had a guitar with my name signed by richie sambora. It did not help the re-sale value. So when I win this one I will leave MC's names an sell it as quick as i can.
