I've been suffering from a bit of "McCartney Overload" lately. If you've never seen him, and have the opportunity, he IS worth seeing.

Granted, it's nothing that's gonna set the world on fire, but I think even he realizes those days are pretty much behind him. He's been a bit over-exposed as of late, and his current album's pretty inane. Still, I'd rather listen to artists like Sir Paul than 90% of the crap out there today passing for rock/pop music. Now, that stuff IS inane.

He has great tunes (it must be amazing to have such a catalogue of songs from which to choose), from many different parts of his career. His band sounds great, harmonizes well, and kicks out a lot of energy. Sure, Paul's got quite the ego but he also has a love of performing and a respect for his audience that translates into a VERY memorable show. It is much more of an emotional experience, you can feel it from the crowd, than just about any show I can recall. You'll love it!

Joined: November 2005 Posts: 111 Location: Southern California | I saw McCartney in '76 (awesome show), in '89 (awesome show), '91 (not so good, but I don't care for stadium gigs so don't know why I went in the first place). Sir Paul can be a bit of a pain when he pontificates on things outside of music, but he is a major, major showman who really connects with his audience, and the cutesy stuff he sometimes overdoes when recording is out the window... this guy knows how to rock! As to the current tour, the clips I've seen are awesome... go if you can(especially if you've never seen him before), but you may need to take out a second mortgage to get the tix, especially if from a scalper! (By passing on Paul this go 'round, I had the bux to buy my Ovation... it's all good!)

They had a bunch of live news coverage of the crowd going in. Made me feel old. All the cute girls that were screaming in the front row in the 1960s are now 55 year old grandmothers. Cheers!
