Here's a good one. They even got the logo on headstock and tuners. Dave

Faux-Ovation called an Ovation

If it's too good to be true ... it probably is! :D I wouldn't waste my money on it though (hehehehe).

That's some of the finest, bookmatched Home Depot plywood ever.

Don't you love the carefully crafted description? He never comes out and says "This is an Ovation". No, he shrouds it in mystery ("it has a somehow different headstock"), so as to avoid the EBay cops.

Cheers!

Jeff

Here is my email to him and as well as his reply. I think he needs more convincing from other members.

Wayne

Q: Hi, not sure what it it but it is definitely not an Ovation. None of the features conform to any Ovation model ever made. It's just a poor copy of some kind. Thanks.

A: Hi there, thanks for contributing. But it's no 'poor copy' Poor copy's don not features solid tops. If it's a copy it's a good one. thanks anyway.. and like i said..your part of the ad.

Ya don't see too many this one. Since when is Douglas Fir considered tone wood? The likelihood of the top being solid is slim. The word solid, in the description, may be used as a synonym for strong. At least, they put the good side up.

Hi,

It's a Stagg A2006-CS and I doubt that there's a solid top on this guitar!!!
I agree with Bluebird, it's really a very poor copy.
Like most of copies...

Only Ovation can do an Ovation. :)

If that's an Ovation, I'm a school teacher, an I am definitely sure I'm no school teacher. :D

Talk about a blatant scam. I guess this idiot thinks someone will actually believe him.

Now he's calling it "a Homemade Ovation based on a Stagg". So now it's a homemade guitar based on a cheap knockoff. Just gets better and better!
Bookmatched top? Yup, that's how they make plywood, all righty...
