Location: lewisburg ohio | The results are that the hygrometer went to 100% so its off at least 25%. Id like to say that its one of those type that you hang on the wall so its probably not right. I guess ill have to invest in one of those better ones like MF has. |

You have to test those before you put them in, but the advantage is, unlike the mechanical ones you never have to recalibrate it (or so I'm told) but you'll have to buy batteries every year. Not really a big deal. For humidifiers, I like the Planet Waves in hole type. For outside the hole, they have a clay type deal in a plastic container that's pretty good.
Some people put in an apple, other use a sponge in a plastic bag.
I like the apple because your case will smell nice, and you'll have something to eat if you run out of food. |

Location: Anchorage, Alaska | So easy to make. Take a pill bottle or go to REI and pick up a few of those small nalgene containers (about 1" round X 1" or 2" tall). Drill several small holes in the top and cut a piece of "eva-foam" which is the green foam that florists use and put in the container. Soak in distilled water and put it in your case. I check mine each week or so. For about $10.00 you can make a dozen of these things. |
