I have never seen one of these before, and am curious . Are they a lot more difficult to hold, or are there maybe other drawbacks ?

I play standard and alternate tunings, and suppose it might be a good idea for me.

Thanks for your time

I find that the comfort level for doublenecks is directly proportional to the weight and to where you can hang it (height of guitar for each neck's playing comfort).

A solid body is a bitch because of the weight but a acoustic probably isn't to bad.

I've tried one of 'em recently at a GuitarCenter, and (for a Korean import) it wasn't bad.

I'd buy one for gigs (to simplify switching back/forth so much). . .

I have two acoustic doublenecks. A ovation celebrity which I agree is very good for the money, but it took a professional set to make it very playable. The other is a 23 year old Yairi dy-87. Straight acoustic. I love the doublenecks and would not part with them. Switching between necks can add lots of possibilities. After a while it feels very normal to have the two necks always available.
