OK....while Woody and I wait for the magic ok, I had a thought. I have a DS768 longneck that sounds fantastic. I also have a 1581 and a 1681 that I recently downtuned to baritone tuning.

Both the Adamas sound incredible downtuned and have held their tuning extremely well....so well if fact it has given me pause to maybe consider selling the DS768.

My question is....I currently have 12's on both guitars. If I switch to 13's, will it hold it's tuning just as well (or better) and could I expect an even bigger, more thunderous sound?

We can always expect more!
Give me a shot when you have a price set on the DS.

I have tried Heavy gage on a Pacemaker and got to downtune to "C-C" effectively. I have set up the Matt Smith poor man's baritone using a .078" low string.

It is all good.

Hold out for a texture top/Contour bowl/ANS neck Adamas LX baritone! I predict 2007!

PS check your PMs!

Could you guy's explain to me what exactly these guitars are? I am guessing a lenghtened neck from the nut down. How much longer??? These do sound like fun. Must make some real nice chords down low like this.

Stephen, If you consider selling the DS768, I would be interested.

Most "normal" guitars have the 25 1/2" scale where a Longneck is a 28 1/3" scale. It puts the saddle into the sweet spot and provides ample neck play area.

The lower register of sounds makes for an interesting mix.

The thing that has amazed me, is that if I close my eyes and have someone else play both the longneck and the downtuned Adamas, I either can't tell the difference or I think the Adamas sounds better.

This leads me to two conclusions. In an effort to reduce the herd a bit, I sell off the DS768 (which I dearly love) because I can get the same effect/sound with the downtuned Adamas....

and two.....oh my god......how awesome will a longneck Adamas sound!
