Hi All! I'm a newbie to the OFC site but have a little info on a post from 11/19 regarding the Elite production numbers. I am a proud owner of a July or August '83 1337 Elite. I know there was a "percentage" of 1337's made at the same time as the 1537's but no exact number was documented to my knowledge. Also, a question was asked about the first 18 1537's made. From what I understand, all were production models and marketing and/or distribution got them so they could be in anyone's hands. (Maybe yours?) Also in the latter part of '84, the Elite II came out with a different neck, epilette and non-wood binding.

A little info just in case anyone wanted to know.

Let's see...I don't know what exact serial number started the line. I do know they started in the 30,000 range but an exact start number isn't known. My July or August '83 is #301787 and based on the January '83 start and numbers produced after that...it's a guess.

As for the 1337 - it's the acoustic only version of the Elite. All started out that way, some had the pick-ups added to create the 1537. The Elite II was produced in Moosup in '84 and production moved to New Hartford in '85. The Elite II was a less expensive version of the Elite I due to material changes.

An all acoustic version? Now that must be some ear candy.
