I'm looking for a cheap legal copy of the sheet music for Aerosmith's Dream On. I want to arrange it for guitar and violin for me and my son to play at a recital. Any and all leads would be appreciated.

I doubt you'll find it for free (and legal) if you really want score. There's lots of tabs and chord charts out there.

You can download a copy of the score from here for $3.95 in Sibelius format. If you can't view it, d/l the Scorch plugin (you'll need it to view and print if you buy it anyway). Pretty cool, actually, allows you to transpose the sheet music, and plays it in MIDI. Oh, the Scorch plugin is free.

Waskel's right. I only know of tab and chord versions that are free. otherwise you'd have to pay for a copy of the score.

Here is a midi file for the song. You can can print out any, or all tracks. The chords are there on at least one track, and melody tracks also. Note: You'll need a midi capable program, such as PowerTracks, or Cakewalk. There are probably free programs which will read the file.

Hey, thanks for those links. The Sebelius is amazing! I'll look into midi software - we must have something somewhere with all the keyboard programs and stuff we've had over the years.

Cliff, you're welcome to come sing with us as long as you can hit the high notes.

Really, I'm pretty stoked about this project. My son is only 9 but he's a pretty good violinist already. Last night we played "Sounds of Silence" as a duet and he sight read the song just fine the first time through!

He doesn't know it yet, but he's getting a pickup for his violin from Santa so he can plug in to his sister's amp. Dream On will be a lot of fun with him plugged in and cranked up.

Sig, I LIVE for the high notes
(that's why they call 'em "high notes" ;-)

"Dust In The Wind" is another you guys might wanna try (albeit, it's a bit "overplayed") . . .

Better choice, if you can find a copy

Can You Give It All To Me?
By Myles & Lenny

Myles Cohen/Lenny Solomon
Columbia Records 1974.

Best thing ever written and recorded for guitar
and violin.

Oh yeah, probably never released outside Canada.
Like
The Payolas
Doug and the Slugs
The Jitters
The Tragically Hip

Oh damn, I'm whining.......
