The question is the color: Black or Cherry Burst? I want something that will compliment my Adamas 1597. Even though that guitar is "ruby graphite", it really doesn't look red unless it is in really strong light. To most people, it probably looks like a really dark maroon. Which way would you go? Cheers! Jeff

If it means two colors that look good next to each other, well, I think either will look good next to the ruby Adamas. OTOH, if it means the color(s) sort of flow between the two guitars, when next to each other, then, I think you have to go with the black cherry burst. Bottom line, what kind of "look" are you trying to achieve?I want something that will compliment my Adamas 1597. Depending on the lighting and where the viewer stands, the color looks noticeably different. It ranges from black to maroon, or perhaps a dark maroon sunburst. But, under direct bright light, the finish turns ruby red. (Or is she just blushing at my inept initial attempts at playing a 12 string smoothly? :p ) To me, color selection a personal thing. I love the ruby finish, but it's not for everyone. If available, I'd take a long look at both options under a variety of lighting, then pick the one I thought looked best on the guitar.

They do have a pretty amazing inventory of other guitars, however. Back in the day, they had a Blue EA68. I bought it! It's the only guitar I ever bought there. FWIW, I have been a Dietze customer for many years and Tim Pratt -- owner of the Omaha store -- is a friend of mine. They have served me well, and I am a loyal customer. That's my testimony, and I'm stickin' to it.

On a gig maybe yellow would look good, white?, tabaco sunburst? So I guess that decides it, if the guitar's only going to at least one gig a year, then black, otherwise choose a lighter color. Red probably is a good compromise, especially if you put on black hardware. That'll look good.

When I got my balladeer with the cherryburst finish, I thought she was one of a kind. Nowadays, I'm beginning to get sick and tired of the color ... fortunately, she's got a sweet sound.
